Thinking outside the box on Valentine's Day

If you’re looking for Valentine’s Decor that’s not made of the regular theme colors, I have a little treat for you!

I’ve been traveling like crazy and being home has been so refreshing, that when I was asked what I’d like to do for Valentine’s, I chose a cozy night in.

Even though we aren’t going to go out for an expensive dinner & wine, I wanted it to still be saucy & special, so I decided to pull together a little romantic staycation.

I opted for something simplistic, a little modern but intimate.

At my house, you’ll find that I like everything to be beautiful and interesting (and I have a particular affinity for rose gold), but I also like to feel relaxed and comfortable. When you sit at my dinner table, I like guests to feel like they can stay there awhile and really enjoy their experience.

I wanted that feeling to carry through for my Valentine’s date at home, so I chose to use a piece simple raw linen as runner and included some gorgeous geometric glass & metal to add some interest. I added a few decor pieces from around my home to give it some wow factor and then of course, I put candles everywhere!

I’m really in love with how the candlelight melded the textures together and the wrinkles in the linen added some drama to it all. The mixed metallics actually worked together to give it some depth.

I really love how it turned out and I think it’s really interesting to improve  the regular theme of holidays and add some personality and elegance to them, even if you just use the things that are already in your home!

This glowy table is the recipe for romance and I loved these napkins from Minted.com-they’ve got some great linens & decor items that have got me really thinking more on the geometric side of things lately!

The linen was so long, I pooled it up on the floor and used that space to add give it a presentation factor. Talk about sweetheart table inspiration!
